Just Released - Wetland Reserve Easement Management Video Series
The Tri-state Conservation Partnership (TCP) is pleased to announce the recent release of a new seven-part video series titled Managing Your Wetland Reserve Easement. The series is specifically designed to support landowners in successfully managing their Wetland Reserve easements. The videos provide valuable information on successfully accomplishing shared landowner and easement program objectives, particularly associated with wildlife habitat management for migratory birds and wetland dependent wildlife. They also offer guidance on how to most effectively and successfully work with the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to meet program requirements. In addition to an introductory video, the series offers four videos that focus on management of flooded wetlands including:
- Landowner’s Role and Management Opportunities
- Wetland Types and Habitat Succession
- Managing Moist-Soil Impoundments
- Managing Semi-Permanent and Other Wetlands
It also contains two videos that directly address management of easement forest stands including:
- Managing Timber on Your Wetland Reserve Easement
- Forest Management Planning and Treatment Implementation
A targeted outreach effort aimed at putting the new series in the hands of easement owners is currently being conducted by State NRCS offices in Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. Easement landowners will be mailed a thumb drive containing the videos along with an information card with QR Codes and URL links for accessing the videos on each state’s NRCS YouTube Channel.
State-specific links to the NRCS YouTube Channels and video information cards are available on the WRP/WRE Management page of the Joint Venture website.
