Hydrology & Water Quality
The connections among bird habitats, surface & subsurface water dynamics (hydrology), and water quality across the LMVJV are numerous and complex. Partners know that historical (and ongoing) changes in hydrology impact forested wetland health and management in significant ways - most of which we poorly understand. We also know that habitat conservation which encourages and restores natural system functions for the benefit of bird populations often improves downstream water quality. The LMVJV partnership is committed to investing in the science that can improve our understanding of these functions and services associated with water
